Our M&A practice has covered a broad range of deals, from the straightforward sale of a business to mergers with public companies or complex private equity backed roll ups, and a variety of markets and sectors, including software, internet and technology, alternative energy, manufacturing, services and real estate. Our M&A clients are often emerging growth to middle market businesses, but we have also represented private equity firms or their portfolio companies (such as Aurora Capital and Rustic Canyon/Fontis Partners) as well as Nasdaq and New York Stock Exchange Companies such as Green Dot, IAC, Allied Signal, Ticketmaster and Perkin Elmer.
SLP has long been recognized as having one of the leading venture capital practices in Southern California. We have represented a number of venture capital and private equity funds in debt and equity investments, and our clients have received financing from some of the nation's blue chip venture capital firms, including Sequoia, Benchmark and Kleiner Perkins. Our deals are often based in the technology, software and internet sectors, but we have also handled financings in retail, alternative fuels, solar energy, medical device and other sectors.

This practice generally covers everything from formation, employment and equity arrangements, license and commercial agreements, seed and venture financing, governance to liquidity event.
